Keeping Score

I have enjoyed reading  the daily devotional by Tony Dungy “The Uncommon Life.” There are often days when I connect to the reading better than others and today was one of those days.

I will be the first one to admit I am a competitive person who likes to win. In competitive athletics success is measured by winning and losing. Even though winning feels good it is not the deciding factor whether a person is successful or happy. The real scoreboard in life is ultimately decided by how well you are following what God has called you to do. In order to follow what God has planned for you, you must take time and listen.

So instead of focusing on winning your next athletic event or earning a promotion, focus on what God has called you to do in life. Following God’s plan and being faithful is the ultimate way to reach success. Success is not defined by our outward accomplishments. What is your faith score? How well are you following the plan God has for you?
